The St. John STEM Magnet Program is located on the campus of East St. John High School in Reserve and serves students from both the east and west banks of St. John the Baptist Parish.

Founded in 2018, the program was established to provide high school students with a strong college preparatory foundation in mathematics, science, and English language arts while preparing them for careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Students can pursue specialized career pathways including:

  • Digital Design & Emergent Media

  • Pre-Engineering

  • Pre-Healthcare & Pre-Veterinary

STEM coursework includes robotics, engineering design, coding, digital storytelling, and medical interventions, all designed to support these pathways. The program currently serves students in grades 9 through 12.

The St. John STEM Magnet Program partners with several state universities to enhance curriculum, provide competition opportunities, and expand academic experiences for students. Through these partnerships, students may participate in dual enrollment and honors courses.

Teachers in the STEM Magnet Program receive advanced, specialized training through Louisiana State University and Project Lead the Way (PLTW), ensuring rigorous, high-quality instruction aligned with industry and collegiate standards.
