Congratulations to the STEM Magnet Program Science District Fair Winners who will be moving on to Regionals!!

A huge "Thank You" to United Health Care for donating this beautiful Coloring Mural to our school. The Mural was designed by artist Emily Thomas.

Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are still being accepted until December 7, 2018. Applications must be submitted online.

Congratulations to Angela Bradford, STEM Magnet "Teacher of the Quarter" in recognition of Outstanding Accomplishments. Presented by: The LaPlace Rotary Club "Service Above Self".

School Board Member Clarence Triche visits Magnet Program students to deliver highly anticipated gold and silver cards. The cards allow for discounts on a variety of items from an abundance of local shopping locations and are awarded to students throughout the district who earned high marks on grade report. Mr. Triche has consistently rewarded kids in this manner for the past 23 years.

Great job and congratulations to our students who participated in the OKTOBERFEST Chess Tournament on Saturday, October 13th. A special thank you to our own Rene' Phillips who made it possible for our students to participate in this event and works with them daily on their chess skills. George Smith came close to trophy contention and honorable mention; Cyrel Rodrigazo received a silver medal for going 50% despite being our youngest player; Avery Williams received a bronze medal for his victory; and Eian Bailey stuck it out and came very close to winning his last hardest round. We are excited about the turn out and performances of our students. Our students made history, being that this was the first time a high school from SJBP competed in a High School rated Chess Competition. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Christopher Taylor, Asia Scioneaux, & Lexi St. Pierre for winning the UnitedHealthcare challenge by writing essays about how their pathways would positively impact health care. Special thanks to UnitedHealtcare for its $5,000 donation to our school. Thank you to Xavier University for allowing our students the opportunity to tour the College of Pharmacy where they had the opportunity to participate in a health fair.
